| posted 03-25-09 07:37 PM EDT (US) I've noticed that there are two types of city: ones with just one government building and those with slots for barracks, admiralties, observatories, etc. Is there a way to make a one slot city have more building slots? Because I'm playing as the UP, and I want to get more taxes from Flanders, but also to be able to recruit more than just militia. Is this fixed or can it be upgraded? | |

Sep 30, 2013 P.S. The small amount of building slots is one of my biggest problems with the game. I can't comprehend why they decided that most settlements should have only 4 slots. I like playing Total War for it's depth, but Rome 2 seems very shallow.

Maybe I'm just missing something, but where is the requirements for getting the most basic military building? There's got to be a city population requirement or something, because I've been taking over cities that have only two building slots available: One for the government building, and one for walls. I want to upgrade them, but I have no idea how. |

I personally do not think that you can get more slots. I just think that is how the game was made to be. If anyone can prove me wrong, please do, so we do not have any false information flying around this joint. | posted 03-25-09 11:53 PM EDT (US) 4 / 5 I think it is a split between the capital cities and the large cities that have multiple building slots and smaller provincial cities that only have one slot for either regular government buildings or military government buildings. | posted 03-26-09 00:00 AM EDT (US) 5 / 5 I agree with Halberd, I think the large cities: London, Vienna, Madrid, Paris, etc, all have more slots than, say, Bosnia or Hannover. To me, it seems part of the design of the game because you must strategically plan ahead where your troops will be trained and moved. Also, you might also notice that even among the larger cities, some don't have a space for a Naval College, even if they're on the water. The smaller cities allow you to choose between a Governor's Residence or a Military Barracks. The Governor's house collects more taxes and provides more repression which keeps down riots but the Military building is needed for professional troops. Best of luck! |

- third free gambling psychologist slot can be buildable with population = rome 2 building slots 5 (it's ok). Rome II you can build. The maximum number of slots available depends on the type of settlement or horde army, the game you are playing, and the race you are playing.
